Paper Questions

The paper will be broken down into four sections and each of you will select one of these areas to research. Please feel free to add more information than the questions include; these are just basic guidelines to cover all of the musicals.

History

1. When and where was the musical first performed?

2. Is it still being performed today?

3. Who was the main writer and composer of this musical?

4. Did they have a purpose for writing this musical? If soŠwhat was it?

List of Main Characters

1. List each of the main characters. Describe how they look and how they act.

2. How do these characters affect the story?

Music and Dance

1. Describe the style of music and dance they chose in this musical. Use examples or give specific characteristics.

2. How does the time period / setting affect the music and dance?

3. If you were to choose one style of dance to represent this musical what would it be and why?

Synopsis

1. Please summarize the story within your musical.

2. What were the main ideas that were being portrayed through the story? How will the audience react?

3. Would you recommend this musical based on the story?Š on the presentation? Why or why not?
