March Meeting Notes

Dear Parents of Irving Students:

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! As President of the Irving Parent Teacher Student Organization, fondly known as IPTSO, I look forward to the challenges and excitement that a new year brings.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you to join IPTSO. A primary objective of this organization is to develop a united effort between parents, teachers, and students so that your child will have the highest advantages in all aspects of education including physical, mental and social. We, as members, are very supportive of our staff and faculty as they are extremely talented and hard working. For only a $5.00 membership fee, you will receive a student directory and the good feeling that goes along with supporting a great organization!

Throughout the years, IPTSO has used its membership fees and donations for staff appreciation, student recognition, 6th grade party, 7th grade party, 8th grade end-of-year celebration, teacher meals during conferences, field trips, etc. Last year we provided a school/community 80th birthday party and a special 80th birthday coin for students.

Every parent is welcome to attend the monthly board meetings which are held on Wednesdays at 1:30 pm @ Irving (excluding December and January). The schedule is as follows: Sept 19, Oct 17, Nov 14, Feb 13, Mar 19, Apr 16, and May 14. If you are unable to make the meetings, I still encourage you to join IPTSO and volunteer your time on one of our many committees.
