December 7, 2018

The skill of the week is to practice kindness.  Bring your likes to lunch to purchase “Irving Shoutouts” to write a classmate, friend or teacher or positive note or thank you.  Shout outs will be hung up in the hallway by the cafeteria so all Irving aardvarks will be able to see a lot of kindness in action!

Introducing THE HOLIDAY CLOSET:  Holidays can be stressful!  Sometimes we can’t find the time or the funds to buy for those we love.  If you find yourself in need of a gift for a loved one but are without the funds to make it happen, please use jump code YKOZ and complete the short form.  The form closes on Thursday evening, December 6.  Again, that’s jump code YKOZ.

6th, 7th & 8th grade students bring your ‘likes’ to lunch to purchase ‘Aardvark Shout-outs’ to recognize, thank or to send positive cheer to fellow classmates or teachers.  Shout outs will be posted for all to see as we spread kindness this month.

Today, December 7th there will be a short informational meeting for any 7th or 8th grade boys interested in playing basketball.  If you have questions or are unable to make it to the meeting please see Mrs. Mohlman in room 012 or Mr. Teer in room 308.

Attention 6-8th grade spellers, the 2019 LPS Spelling Bee will be held Saturday, February 9th at Culler Middle School. See Mr. Brown for additional information. Sign-up deadline is January 25th.

Also, do you need more drama in your life? Well, LPS has intramural Drama/Speech/Debate opportunities for you! These are Saturday morning sessions an there is an information night January 9th at Southeast High School Auditorium at 7pm. You may register in person or online.
