Join us for Life Lessons in the Library TOMORROW. We will be learning about the Basics of babysitting this month.

Hey Irving Aardvarks, have you ever been told to ‘build a bridge and get over it’? Now’s your chance! Join the Engineering Club at the Irving Rec Center. Design, build and test your own bridge with real engineer and former student, Rachel Wagner! (Yes, this is the daughter of our very own, Mr. Wagner) Starts Saturday, February 29th, contact the Rec Center for more information.

The Skill of the Week this week is community building.

Attention students interested in participating in Track and Field this spring!  There is an information meeting on Thursday March 5 from 3:10-3:30.  If you have not played a sport at Irving this year, you need a red card filled out before track season starts.  These can be picked up from Ms. Mohlman or in the counseling center. Please plan to attend this meeting if you are planning to participate in Track and Field.  Questions, see Ms. Mohlman or Ms. Eastman.

Congratulations to our 2019 Irving Middle School Inspire Award Winner 8th grader Gibsen Chapman!  She will be honored at a banquet in the middle of March for being a great leader at Irving!  If you see her, give her a High 5!  Who will be our next Irving winner?

Calling ALL students!  Do we have your attention? We have one and a half weeks left before the end of 3rd quarter!  Have you checked your StudentVue to see what your grades are!  Remember!  This is your responsibility!  Studying to learn, apply what you learn and earn grades that represent what you know are a good indicators you will be successful in high school and beyond!  If your grades are not where you know they can be (ahem….or where your parents THINK they should be), please ask your teacher for help, complete missing assignments, and most of all….DO YOUR BEST TO FINISH STRONG!

Irving Ambassadors spent time giving back to Irving yesterday by cleaning all of the desks and chairs as well as picking up trash on the Irving Middle School grounds.  They found a lot of interesting items!  Please help them keep Irving picked up from here until the end of school – inside and out!  Do you know there are trash receptacles located by many of the doors as well as inside the doors?  Use them!  Take pride in where you go to school!  We are proud of you!

Teachers, please take note of the poster hanging outside of the Counseling Center, many of our Irving Ambassadors wrote notes thanking you for caring about them, helping through tough times and for being AWESOME!  Keep up the great work!
