The SOTW for the week is to use respectful language throughout the school day. When you use respectful language, you are demonstrating that you are a respectful Irving Student.

 

7th and 8th grade Irving Ambassadors, please touch base with Mrs. Kluck sometime this week to share where you went to elementary school. This information is needed as we prepare for our incoming 6th grade visits. Thanks!

It’s almost time for Golden Sower Voting…keep reading those Golden Sower Nominees and keeping track on your bookmark.  We will be voting the week of April 9th.  If you have read at least 10 make sure you give your bookmark to Mrs. Cejda.

 

Join us for Green Club on Wednesday, March 28th, in Room 114, from 3 to 4 pm.  We need your help in figuring out events for the week of Earth Day!  See you there!

 

Congrats to the Irving Archery team on a 2nd place finish at the NASP State Archery Tournament. We had 3 students place Individually; Owen Chaffin 1st, Ethan Dahl 5th in Middle School boys, Ellie Bomberger 2nd in Middle School girls. Ellie and Owen both made the All Academic Team for the state which is composed of 24 shooters that both achieved a high score and good grades. Ellie and Owen were both in the top 8 over all in the Male and Female Divisions allowing them to compete for a Scholarship. Owen came in 3rd place and earned a scholarship. Owen and Corinne Taylor represented the team in the Saco Team shoot off and came in 2nd place for Irving. Lastly the team and these 4 individuals qualified for nationals; Owen Chaffin, Ethan Dahl, Ellie Bomberger, and Rowan Long.

Talent Show Update:  Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the talent show auditions.  Audition dates are Tuesday April 3rd, Wednesday April 4th, and Thursday April 5th.  You can access the audition form by using the jump code PIGM.  Email or see Mrs. Holloway with any questions!

LES Step Chain tryouts begin today, Monday, March 26th.  They will be held at LSE from 6-8:30.  Students are encouraged to wear clothes they feel comfortable moving in (preferably athletic) and sneaker-type shoes.  Sandals of any kind are discouraged.

Be a part of the first annual “Stars on S 22nd St” talent show.  The show is Tuesday, May 22nd from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  You can sign up for auditions by using the jump code PIGM or by going to the online newspaper.  Please email Mrs. Holloway at jhollow@lps.org with any questions.  Thank you to all that have signed up for auditions!  You will be notified of your date and time soon!

NOTE: Due to scheduling issues, the audition dates have been changed to April 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

When you dress appropriately for school, you are representing yourself as a responsible, respectable aardvark.

Spring Break is next week.  Enjoy your week off!  See you on Monday, March 19th to start fourth quarter.

 

The SOTW this week is to clean up your area in the cafeteria before being dismissed to recess. When you clean up your area, you are demonstrating that you are a responsible, respectful student.

 

Do you have a special talent you would like to share?  Would you like to get up on stage and perform?  If so, please join us for Irving’s first annual talent show.  “Stars on S 22nd St” will be at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, May 22nd.  Auditions will be held the week after spring break.  To sign up for auditions, you can either go to the online newspaper or use the jump code PIGM.

 

Mr. Faulkner was nominated for a Staff Like by Traeton Brandt because he is the best teacher ever.   Mrs. Kluck-Spann was nominated by Liem Wills because she is always in a good mood and greets me every day.  Mrs. White was nominated by Riley Nelson because she is always nice and has a great smile.  Ms. Coleman was nominated by Neva Kushner because she is always teaching great lessons and she is always smiling. Mr. Bayne was nominated for a Staff Like by Jasmine Hibler because he is so excited to teach us which makes me want to know even more. Mr. Hirt was nominated by Julia Abraham because he is very consistent with his lessons.

Attention any 7th and 8th grade boys and girls interested in participating in Track and Field.  There will be an informational meeting today, Thursday March 8 after school in the gym.  Schedules, practice times, and other important information will be provided.

 

Did you know that Michael Forsberg’s photograph of the sand hill cranes over the Platte River was chosen to be the used for the US stamp for Nebraska? This nature photographer will be our guest at today’s Chimney Swift Club meeting. Mr. Forsberg will share about the amazing sand hill crane migration through Nebraska, photography tips, and his work out in the field. Join us this Thursday after school in room 114.
